Alex Fretwell...Stylist, Education Director, & Co-Owner of Montage Studio Salon & Spa.

Alex is part of the Schwarzkopf Education Team as a National Ambassador, and joined Schwarzkopf in 2002. He is extremely passionate about the art of hair. He possesses a strong foundation in art and design, and his cutting, coloring, and teaching style are all design oriented with cause and reason for all actions. He travels from L.A. to New York educating in the Schwarzkopf Academy, private salons, hair shows, and most recently photo work. Alex's work was recently featured on the cover of The Colorist magazine, October 2009 edition, a sister publication to Beauty Launchpad, a national hair & fashion magazine. Alex's high education standards provide for an enriching continuing education program within his salons. Alex is driven to make many positive and beneficial changes to the creative stylist.  Alex strives to honor the creativity of his profession. He envisions that all hair stylists can succeed, making our industry one that is recognized as a professional industry, not just one of service.

Alex is also part of the mekka Systems of Education, the art and science of structural hair design. mekka is based in Montreal, Canada and was founded by Ms. Kathy Simon. Alex attends a week long intense training with Kathy and the rest of the team bi-annually in Montreal.
